ABOUT / FAHAD SHAIKH

Engineering across perception and software.

I’m an Electrical and Computer Engineering student at the University of Toronto. My work spans computer vision, 3D geometry, ML systems, and digital hardware. I like taking research ideas through the less glamorous parts of engineering: data, evaluation, interfaces, and deployment.

Experience

FEB 2026 — PRESENT

AI/ML Engineer Intern · Aortem Inc.

Developing retrieval-augmented systems, fine-tuning language models with LoRA, and optimizing inference on constrained GPU instances.

SEP 2025 — PRESENT

Computer Vision Research Engineer · aUToronto

Developing Fourier-based image enhancement for saturation and low-light conditions in an autonomous vehicle perception pipeline.

JAN — MAR 2026

ML Research Intern · AKW Consultants

Built a multimodal liveness research system combining rPPG, texture analysis, and depth cues.

JAN — DEC 2025

AEAC Software Member · UofT Aerospace Team

Designed CubeSat battery-enclosure components in SolidWorks and developed 2D vision modules.
